By creating an account or using YourFilmProject, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
YourFilmProject is a submission and discovery platform. Uploading your screenplay does not transfer, license, or assign any ownership rights to YourFilmProject or any third party. You retain 100% of the copyright to your screenplay at all times. The only right you grant us is a limited technical license to store your file and display your script's title, logline, synopsis, and metadata to the verified industry users you choose to make it visible to. This license exists solely to operate the platform and is revoked the moment you delete your script.
YourFilmProject is a free platform that lets screenwriters upload screenplays and make them discoverable by verified producers, executives, agents, and managers. We do not produce, finance, option, or acquire projects. We are a connection tool — what happens between a writer and an industry professional after they connect is entirely between those parties.
You must be 18 or older. You are responsible for the security of your login credentials. You may not impersonate anyone or misrepresent your identity. Producer and executive accounts require manual approval; submitting false credentials is grounds for immediate permanent removal.
You are solely responsible for the content you upload. By uploading, you confirm that you are the sole author or have the legal right to submit the work, that it does not infringe any third-party rights, and that it contains no unlawful content. We may remove violating content but have no obligation to review content before upload.
Industry accounts may browse writer-submitted scripts for legitimate development activity only. Producers may not download, reproduce, share, or distribute scripts outside the platform without the writer's explicit written permission. Forwarding scripts without consent is grounds for permanent removal and may constitute copyright infringement.
We do not guarantee that uploading your script will result in representation, optioning, production, or any professional outcome. We provide the connection infrastructure — results depend on your work and the decisions of industry professionals.
No spam, scraping, harvesting of user data, infringement, harassment, or misuse of other users' work. Violations result in account suspension or removal.
You may delete your account at any time, which removes your profile and scripts. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
YourFilmProject is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page.
